She earned her Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ) in 2012, with a thesis focused on CO2 emission reduction potential in the Turkish electricity sector, supervised by Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Erdem Görgün and Prof. Dr. Salahattin İncecik. Prior to that, she completed her M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering from İTÜ in 2000, where her research addressed environmental management systems in the electrical components industry under the guidance of Prof. Dr. İlhan Talınlı. She began her academic career with a B.Sc. in Environmental Engineering from İTÜ, graduating in 1997.
