Mahmoud Huleihel has an impressive academic and professional background. In 1980 and 1981, he achieved the Honors roll at the Perah Educational Project and Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, respectively ๐ŸŽ“. In 1983 and 1986, he was granted awards for excellent Arab students by the Prime Minister Office in Jerusalem, Israel ๐Ÿ†. Fast forward to 1995, he received the “Dr. Bernard Cwikel Memorial Fund – Faculty Grants” from the Faculty of Health Sciences at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev ๐Ÿ“š. In 1996, he was honored with the Maof fellowship by the Kahanov Foundation and served as a lecturer for 3 years ๐Ÿ“–. Mahmoud’s excellence was further recognized in 1997 when he won The Israel Fertility Association (IFA) Annual Meeting prize for the Best lecture in the field of sperm research ๐Ÿฅ‡. Finally, in 1999, he was awarded the First prize for the best basic science presented work at The Annual Meeting of the Israeli Society for Maternal โ€“ Fetal Medicine in Herzelia, Israel ๐ŸŽ‰.

Research Focus:

Mahmoud Huleihel’s research is primarily focused on male fertility preservation. His research aims to develop spermatogenesis in vitro using 3D in vitro culture systems and microfluidic systems. This research has potential future therapeutic strategies for azoospermic patients and prepubertal boys treated with aggressive chemotherapy.
