šŸ“š Education Journey :Ā

Embarking on a remarkable academic odyssey, Prof. Dr. Sumana Chakravarty has sculpted a distinguished career in neuroscience. Her academic prowess unfolded at Banaras Hindu University, where she earned a Ph.D. in Zoology in 1997. Following this, she delved into the intricate realms of reproductive physiology during a postdoctoral associate ship at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, New Delhi. Dr. Chakravarty’s quest for knowledge led her to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, USA, where she pursued postdoctoral fellowships from 1999 to 2005. During this time, she explored diverse domains, from mouse pheromones and behavior to mammalian renal physiology. Returning to India, she took on the role of Ramalingaswami Re-entry Fellow at the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Hyderabad, from March 2009 to 2013. Later, she furthered her career at IICT, assuming the positions of Scientist in the Quick Recruitment Scheme (2013-2016) and being recognized as an Assistant Professor in Biological Sciences at the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR). Dr. Chakravarty’s academic journey encapsulates a commitment to unraveling the mysteries of neuroscience, earning her a prominent place in the scientific community. šŸ§
