Associate Professor| Institute of Analysis and Testing, Beijing Academy of Science and Technology (Beijing Center for Physical and Chemical Analysis) | China

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Qiushui Wang (born August 29, 1991) is a distinguished researcher specializing in biochemistry, molecular biology, and microbial natural products, currently serving as an Associate Research Fellow at the Beijing Center for Physical & Chemical Analysis (BCPCA), Beijing Academy of Science and Technology. She earned her Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMCAS) in 2020 under the supervision of Prof. Zhang Lixin, with part of her doctoral research conducted at the Helmholtz Institute for Pharmaceutical Research Saarland (HIPS) under Prof. Dr. Rolf Müller. Her academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from Shandong University in 2014. Dr. Wang’s research focuses on microbial natural products, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing in actinomycetes, microbial diversity, and antibiotic resistance mechanisms. She developed the innovative pQS gene-editing system, significantly improving gene-editing efficiency in rare actinomycetes and enabling new insights into the biosynthesis and yield enhancement of key bioactive compounds such as proxmicin and griselimycin. Her current work integrates multi-omics analysis, high-throughput sequencing, and microbial genomics to explore microbial community dynamics, antibiotic resistance genes, and probiotic strain development for aquaculture and crop health. Dr. Wang has authored several influential publications in journals such as Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology, Frontiers in Microbiology, and Environmental Science. Her research skills include microbial genome engineering, bioinformatics, multi-omics data analysis, natural product discovery, and analytical chemistry (HPLC-MS/MS). She has made remarkable contributions to understanding soil–microbe–crop interactions and antibiotic resistance in aquaculture environments. Recognized for her academic excellence and innovative research, Dr. Wang has received multiple institutional honors and continues to contribute significantly to advancing microbial biotechnology and sustainable environmental health. Her interdisciplinary expertise and leadership mark her as a rising figure in biochemical and microbial research.
