Mr. Feng Wang | Chemical Engineering | New Horizons Science Invention Award
Associate Professor | Jiangnan University | China
Mr. Feng Wang, Associate Professor at the School of Chemical and Material Engineering, Jiangnan University, China, is a distinguished researcher specializing in protein separation, enzyme technology, and industrial biocatalysis, with practical experience in extracting polysaccharides and phycocyanin from Spirulina and stabilizing enzymes such as amylase and lipase for industrial applications. He earned his Ph.D. from Jiangnan University in 2005, focusing on the production of γ-Cyclodextrin Glycosyltransferase by Bacillus macerans WSH02-06, following an M.S. in the improvement of nonionic surfactants for cosmetics from Wuxi University of Light Industry (2001) and a B.A. in Fine Chemical Products from Jiangsu Institute of Petrochemical Technology (1993). Professionally, he has been teaching at Jiangnan University since 2005, supervising master’s dissertations, lecturing in enzymology and organic chemistry, and serving as a visiting scholar at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, USA, where he studied immobilized cutinases and their thermal stability. His research interests include enzyme immobilization, protein-ligand interactions, cyclodextrin synthesis, and industrial applications of biocatalysis, with skills in enzyme production, purification, activity modulation, and industrial-scale bioprocessing. Dr. Wang has led major research projects, including as deputy leader of the National High Technology Research and Development Program of China, and published extensively in reputed journals such as International Journal of Biological Macromolecules and Colloids and Surfaces A, with 651 citations across 27 documents and an h-index of 11. His awards include the Second-class Jiangsu Province Higher Education School Science and Technology Research Achievement Award (2021) and the Third-class Scientific and Technological Progress Award of China Light Industry Federation (2021), as well as the Distinguished Doctoral Dissertation Award of Jiangsu Province (2006). With his extensive expertise, leadership in research projects, strong publication record, and active mentorship, Mr. Feng Wang is well-positioned to drive innovation and elevate global standards in enzyme technology, biocatalysis, and industrial biotechnology.
