Assoc. Prof. Dr. Iagăru Pompilica is a distinguished Romanian researcher specializing in sustainable agriculture, precision agroecosystems, and agroecological resource management. She earned her Ph.D. in Agriculture from Craiova University in 2005, following a Master’s in Engineering from Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, and completed postdoctoral research at the Romanian Academy’s “Costin C. Kirițescu” Economic Research Institute in 2013. Dr. Iagăru has held several academic and professional positions, including Lecturer and Conferențiar at Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, as well as technical and consulting roles in industry and public agricultural administration. Her research interests focus on integrating advanced technologies such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for precision monitoring, sustainable management of pasture and grassland ecosystems, and promoting circular economy practices within agroecosystems. She possesses strong research skills in experimental design, data analysis, remote sensing, precision agriculture techniques, and sustainable production systems. Dr. Iagăru has led and participated in numerous national and international research projects, including UAV-based monitoring of horticultural crops and adaptability studies of high-altitude sheep breeds, demonstrating leadership in project management, mentoring, and community-oriented initiatives. Her contributions have been recognized in high-impact journals, and she has received honors for advancing agroecosystem sustainability and environmental stewardship. With a prolific publication record, including papers such as Strategic Thinking and Its Role in Accelerating the Transition from the Linear to the Circular Economic Model (Sustainability, 2023), Critical Analysis of mini Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in Horticultural Agroecosystems in Romania (Scientific Papers: Management, Economic Engineering in Agriculture & Rural Development, 2023), and Aerial Monitorization—A Vector for Ensuring the Agroecosystems Sustainability (Sustainability, 2022), with 2 documents in indexed databases and an h-index of 6, Dr. Iagăru’s contributions continue to shape the future of sustainable agriculture and rural development.
